A Movie & Lunch Date~

& now we have gotten around to watch our first movie in what…22 months?!

[Eternals]~

Not exactly my first choice or my idea of a watch-of-priority…

But yes it's time to go claim our 2 free movie tickets already…
& it's a film I still consider worthy of my time & effort to watch?
It's a Marvel movie after all…& anyway the title's fixed for us~

Okay so we still had to pay the SGD$1.50 online booking fee…

& the bill for our lunch for two totaled to be SGD$40.49 today…

If only the portions of each dish served could be bigger…

I don't recall the portions of every dish being so unsatisfyingly small &…not filling?
But it's still delicious yes! Now I remember how we used to frequent Thai Express!

Yay & so we have finally come around to step back into a movie theater to watch a movie on the big screen…& of course this is nice & I'm thankful…but yeah to be perfectly honest we still have not managed to get started (or should I say re-started) on watching anything of what I'd REALLY want to be watching…like I mean…what I'd SERIOUSLY prefer to be actually spending my time & effort to be watching…

Wow we are really amazed (& thankful yes!) at how we had actually managed to not get ourselves hit by avoid any spoilers (when they are so big!) before watching this…

Much thanks to everyone (& I really mean everyone!) who have been so considerate!

Had not watched this earlier because well…the GV website had openly declared that "Complimentary passes, Members' Discount, DBS Paylah & DBS/ POSB Credit & Debit Card discounts and all other ticket promotional discounts are not valid for Marvel Studio's Avengers: Endgame from 24 April to 8 May 2019"…when we wanted to watch it on discounted tickets…

…so yeah…waiting it out we did…& it's like…a miracle we were not spoiled earlier…

& now we can understand why people cry watching this so-epic installment as well…

Ohh by the way…looks like we are not the only ones who have been conditioned to sit through the entire credits of Marvel movies in the movie theatre…

Even though logically thinking…there should not be anything at the end of this one?
& as if sitting through 3-hour long movies is not only normal…but not quite enough?

This time round…we have totally gone ahead of Iron Man Day by 3 days for this…
Much thanks to YB who had kindly given us the pair of free tickets he had won~

Had expected an impressive line-up…but this was an extremely impressive one…
& I'm supposing this is probably the first & last story where this will ever happen…

One of the most "expensive films ever made"…which is well not surprising at all…

& with all that…there's really quite a lot to know before even watching Infinity War…

It's like…information of the past…from all of these previous Marvel films are pretty important for anyone to have in order to really appreciate the story in this one…

& it's pretty amazing too that we had actually watched almost all 18 of them…save for [The Incredible Hulk]?

& what's even more amazing was how few (out of a full hall that sits about 500 people) had actually exited the hall during the credits…it's like wow…the producers of the Marvel series have mastered the art of making people as a community sit through all the credits (without a fast-forward option) till the end of their film's roll~

By the way…saw this tweet that someone shared online which cracked me up:

Umm on a closer look…is that a spoiler within an anti-spoiler statement right there?

In any case…the sequel is definitely what we will be waiting for~
& for the return of the most powerful villain in the MCU thus far…
& also for the Avengers missing from the prequel to show up in!

Well it's not bad I guess…but it's highly unlikely that I would queue for one again~

As a female…I'd say films like that are really interesting & informative…
[Ant-Man]~

Ohh wow the story of Ant-Man's way more exciting than I had expected~
[解救吾先生]~ a.k.a. [Saving Mr. Wu]~

Apparently this film was based on a true abduction case where one of the cast members was the actual victim in the kidnapping case…rescued after 23 hours in captivity…just before his execution…in Beijing in 2004~ & three of the abductors were sentenced to death a year later~


Couch potatoes cultivation Day 2 - on the 1st day of CNY (16 Feb 2018):

Had felt really sad for the power-crazed insecure antagonist in this one…

[택시운전사] a.k.a. [Taeksi Unjeonsa]
a.k.a. [A Taxi Driver]~

Apparently this film was also based on a true event…the Gwangju Uprising in South Korea that had happened in 1980~ & a video made by the real German journalist who had filmed and reported on the Gwangju massacre (Jürgen Hinzpeter) was also incorporated into the film in its credits~

I'd highly recommend this~

& it's great & even kind of satisfying seeing how the once young & rebellious (now old & rebellious) Iron Man is maturing…albeit slowly…to assume the role of a mentor…

Oh good…found it easier to buy the onscreen chemistry in this second installment…

Never mind that my expectations were critically lowered even before deciding to get tickets for this…for at least this time I didn't feel levels of disappointment that were even remotely similar to those that I felt for its first installment as the credits rolled!

Stark VS Rogers~

Today is 1st May - Iron Man Day again!

& on this fifth Iron Man Day in history…it's with Captain America & the rest of the Avengers again for the second consecutive year for this Iron Man Day 2016!

[Captain America: Civil War]~

(Reminder: We queued for an hour for the tickets @ JB!)

With my two favourite Marvel Superheroes against each other…it's really great!

Yes! I love this film! It's a dreamy watch!

Tony Stark is charismatic & charming…
Steve Rogers is magnetic & mesmerizing…

& there's an acceptable introduction & a proper setup…a coherent storyline with a convincing plot strengthened by an engaging script…leading into an appealing showdown & an awesome climax~

The story made sense…there are believable motivations for picking a side…& there's fair reason to fight!

& re-considering my concerns after what went on between Batman & Superman…

The idea of pitting superheroes against each other might not be terrible after all!

Haven't been able to catch any shows for almost three months now…

But the Avengers have showed up!

So considering that today is supposedly Iron Man Day…& that Iron Man is now back…with a team that includes Captain America to add…

Okay but having to purchase individual 3D glasses at a separate cost? Ahh had no idea that stuff in the industry have evolved so quickly over my period of absence from the movie theatre…

Anyway this is likely my first & last visit to the new Eng Wah theatre @ the new 321 Clementi building…& it's really not just simply over a silly matter of having to pay for 3D glasses…
