Wedding @ Chiêm Hoá @ Tuyên Quang~

After 3.5 hours on a plane to Hanoi + 4 hours on a sleeper bus to Chiêm Hoá…

…we arrived at our destination on Friday evening…just in time for dinner…where the drinking pre-wedding celebrations had very much well-commenced…& the joyous drinking pre-wedding mood had started to fill the atmosphere…

With a feast for the drinking pre-wedding dinner (intensity: high)…

& then the next day arrived for the actual day of celebration…with good weather!

The pork pig of the day…

Glad to have gotten to witness this classic moment:
them dressed Vietnamese-style & bearing gifts ready to pick up the bride~

Breakfast - the only meal without alcohol on the table~

With an unexpectedly nice pure minced meat dish in the bowl~

After breakfast - the perfect time for photo-taking~

& the drinking wedding lunch right after was a feast again (intensity: medium)…

Guests had the opportunity to tour around the area in the afternoon…once again with transport catered by the wedding couple to bring us around…& it was nice to see & learn more about the bride's hometown~

Now…getting my Geography facts straight:
Chiêm Hoá is a rural district of Tuyên Quang…which is a province of Vietnam located in the Northeast region of Vietnam to the northwest of Hanoi (the capital of Vietnam)~

We were later brought to the venue for the drinking wedding party in the evening~

With another feast for the drinking wedding dinner (intensity: pro)…

& then this happened at our table~
(the eventual result of which they were all happy with LOL~)

Well…the night had ended early for some of us…while most the rest of them enjoyed an extended time of celebration with another drinking post-wedding party at yet another venue till late (intensity: undisclosed)…

& everyone gathered together again for breakfast the next morning…

In a restaurant out of the living room of a house~

& then it was a 4-hour journey on the sleeper bus again~

Lunch was a quick one before we got off the bus for the last time~

Took a Grabtaxi to our hotel~

& we checked into our hotel at 4.30pm~

The view from our hotel window~

We then had half of a day in Hanoi city…which we practically wasted no time of…

Tried some of the recommended local food~

Walked around the night market~

Tried some more of the recommended local food~

Checked out the night view at the lake in the area~

& it's nice to end the night with a chocolate-flavoured stick of ice~

Monday arrived & it was time for a day tour to the Lan Ha Bay mll had pre-booked…

Had an enormous jellyfish literally floating beside our ship at one point…
when some guests were swimming in those waters - which we well…didn't…

Had dinner & leg massage at a hotel just near ours…because well…we simply had no motivation to go explore the surroundings further in the relentless downpour that lasted all night…& with no additional company with the two of us anymore too…

Well the leg massage's style was quite unique…& reasonably-priced…

& the snack served was pretty interesting as well…

Had our last meal in the hotel the next morning & this hotel breakfast service had it all going for me - serving individual orders & accepting special requests…

Now this is really how I like my food! (I call it pure…)

& then it's time for check-out & a 40-minute ride to the airport for our return flight~

Took a look at this board & knew I had to try something on the menu~

Burger King here serves tasty spicy crispy fried chicken!

Yes of course we brought back bottles of water!
